IE Badakhshan provincial financial inspector: Shortage of budget by 52 percent compared to last year

“Compared to last year, the Badakhshan annual income has reduced by 52 percent.” Abdul Malek, the head of income department in Badakhshan provincial financial inspector office, said

Having their first formal meeting with Badakhshan governor, Islamic Emirate Badakhshan provincial financial inspector said compared to last year the income budget has reduced by 52 percent in the province.

To address the current challenges, followed by fall of the ex-government, the Islamic Emirate provincial officials held their first formal meeting with the Badakhshan governor.

Speaking at the meeting, Mowlawi Abdul Ghani Fayeq, the Badakhshan governor, suggested, to properly solve the people`s problems, such a meeting should be held every 15 days.

“Compared to last year, the Badakhshan annual income has reduced by 52 percent.” Abdul Malek, the head of income department in Badakhshan provincial financial inspector office, said

According to him, the ministry of finance calculated 338 million Afs as annual income for Badakhshan from which only 156 million Afs has collected, signaling 52 percent decrease.

“Recent political developments as well as tax fraud in Badakhshan cities are behind this fall of governmental income.” Mr. Malek added

He emphasized as the decree of Islamic Emirate prime minister says only Badakhshan provincial financial inspector office tasked with collecting taxes, the other IE offices or Mojahedin lack such a right.

This comes as governmental staff in Badakhshan public services offices have not been paid their salaries for several months, but Taliban commanders have been regularly collecting Zakat in different parts of Badakhshan.
