In Paktika blast district police chief killed

The incident happened when the police chief was on the way to Dewana Baba area where the Taliban attacked security forces.

Juma Shah, the police chief for Sar Rawza district in Paktika, was killed and three of his security guards were wounded in a blast in the province on Tuesday night, local security officials said.

The incident happened when he was on the way to Dewana Baba area where Taliban attacked security forces, a local official said, adding that “the police chief wanted to support the forces in fighting against the Taliban.”

“But his vehicle was targeted by a roadside bomb,” according to the officials. 

No group including the Taliban has claimed receptibility for the blast.
