Iran admits it has ‘shot down’ the Ukrainian passenger plane by mistake

According to state TV reports, Iran has admitted that it has ‘shot down’ the Ukrainian passenger plane by ‘unintentionally’ and by mistake.

Iran fired at least a dozen ballistic missiles on Wednesday morning targetting two US basis in Iraq, one of which has hit the Ukrainian passenger plan shortly after it took off from Imam Khomeini International Airport in Tehran.

The airplane had a total of 176 board members including 167 passengers and 9 crew members who all died.

In total, 82 Iranians and 63 Canadians were on board the Kyiv-bound Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) Flight PS752, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko said.

There were also 11 victims – including nine crew members – from Ukraine, 10 Swedish, 4 Afghans, 3 British and 3 Germans.
