ISIS claims responsibility for Pakistani diplomat’s death in Jalalabad
Islamic State terror group (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the murder of a Pakistani diplomat in Afghanistan who was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Jalalabad city.

Rana Nayyar Iqbal, a Pakistani diplomat in the country’s general consulate in capital of eastern Nangarhar province was shot dead near his residence in Jalalabad on Monday evening.
The ISIS claimed responsibility for the murder but did not elaborate the reason.
Aimaq website which is a news agency affiliated with the terror group posted a message claiming the murder.
The diplomat’s body was handed over to Pakistani security officials at the Torkham border crossing, from where it was transferred to Islamabad for burial.
A resident of the Sialkot district of Punjab province, the official leaves behind five children and a widow. He worked in the consulate’s visa section.
