At least 43 Afghan soldiers killed after Taliban storm base is Kandahar
Officials say at least 43 Afghan soldiers were killed after Taliban militants stormed an army base late Wednesday in southern Kandahar province.

Afghan Defense Ministry said in statement that Taliban militants including suicide bombers stormed an army base in Maiwand district of southern province at around 2:50 local time, two days after the militants carried out massive attack on Paktia police HQ.
“Of the 60 soldiers manning the base in Cahshmo area of Maiwand district, 43 were killed, nine were wounded and six others are missing. Only two soldiers have been able to survive the attack,” the statement added.
At least 10 Taliban militants were also killed in the attack.
Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack and said that at least 60 soldiers were killed in the attack.
