Military raids in insecure districts of Balkh killed more than 150 Taliban militants

Local officials in northern Balkh province said more than 150 Taliban militants were killed during the military raids of Afghan forces in unsecure districts of the province including Char Bulak, Chemtal and Dawlat Abad.  

Deputy to Balkh provincial council, Sayed Abdullah Masroor said that military operations in insecure districts of the province have now finished and as a result, a number of villages of Char Bulak and Dawlat Abad districts are now freed and cleaned up of insurgents.

He said heavy casualties were inflicted on Taliban militants in the operations and a number of their hideouts were also destroyed.

Masroor added that more than 150 Taliban militants were killed and at least 200 others were wounded in the operations.

It is worth mentioning the above mentioned operations have been going on during the past two weeks in which a number high ranking local officials including Balkh governor, Mohammad Eshaq Rahguzar and former Balkh governor Ata Mohammad Noor took part.
