NSA Atmar left Kabul for Turkey on two-day visit

The National Security Advisor (NSA) Mohammad Hanif Atmar left Kabul for a two-day state visit to Turkey this morning.

On Thursday and Friday, Atmar would hold meetings with his Turkish counterpart, the country’s Interior Minister, Director of National Intelligence and acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides would discuss a vast range of topics including mutual security interests, security and intelligence cooperation and fight against terrorism. Khaama press reported.

They will also discuss ways to improve diplomatic ties and Turkey’s military assistance with Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANSDF) under the umbrella of NATO.

According to Tawab Ghorzang, spokesperson for Atmar, the visit is based on the official invitation of his Turkish counterpart.
