Pakistan was on the same page with the Biden administration on various aspects of the Afghan conflict, the minister said while concluding a Senate debate on the country’s foreign policy.
The US and Pakistan especially had a commonality of views on the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan and reduction in violence in the neighbouring country, Qureshi told the upper house.
Spurning the opposition’s claim regarding Pakistan’s diplomatic isolation, he asserted a marked improvement in relations with Afghanistan.
The Afghan government and the international community had acknowledged Pakistan’s support for the Afghan peace process, Qureshi insisted.
About a shift in Pakistan’s approach on to Afghanistan, he said the government was no longer interacting with only one ethnic group and had started reaching out to other important communities.
