Police in Herat arrested a professional kidnapper

Deputy to press office of western Herat police Sayed Ahmad Mohammad said the kidnapper has been arrested with two rounds of small guns and an electric shocker.

“He used to use the electric shocker when kidnapping,” Ahmad Mohammad said.

According to him, the arrested kidnapper has confessed to his several crimes.

Kidnapping is considered a major security challenge in western Herat province, where many people have so many times raised their concerns regarding the frequent incidents of kidnapping in the province.

Last week, Herat civil court confirmed death penalties of 13 kidnappers.

They were among a group of 18 kidnappers who had kidnapped 13 people weeks ago. They had murdered 5 of the abductees, while releasing 5 others in return for money. The destiny of 3 others are yet unknown.
