President Ashraf Ghani and President Obama hold Video Conference

During a video conference, President Ashraf Ghani and U.S President Barack Obama discussed Afghanistan national security and defense among other important topics.

President Obama on Wednesday held a video conference with President Ashraf Ghani of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah.

According to a statement, the U.S president praised Afghanistan’s progress on “efforts to curb corruption, revive the economy, and improve regional economic connectivity.”

President Obama also commended Afghan security forces as they continue to fight in the current fighting season.

The statement also said the leaders talked about different tactics to strengthen Afghan National Security and Defense Forces as the U.S. continues to help counter threats to the country.

The two leaders last met in Washington in March.
