Rabbani declared his view of coming election in the Senate
Senator Raza Rabbani Tuesday was taking part in the debate regarding Constitution Day in the Senate.

He was of the view that free and fair elections should be held so that people could elect their real representatives.
He said the government should not present budget before time. According to Article 86 of the Constitution, a caretaker government could incur expenditures and later take its validation from the parliament, he added.
Rabbani said the only way to rid the country of challenges was to follow the Constitution.
It may be mentioned Raza Rabbani set the precedent of observing the `Constitution Day’ during his tenure as Senate chairman.
He said creation of regional parties and restricting mainstream political parties would weaken the federationS enator Javed Abbassi said mainstream political parties were being divided into groups. Big political parties could guarantee stability in the country, he said, adding conflicts could be resolved by following the Constitution.
Senator Musadiq Malik stressed that institutions should work in their domain.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Senators Ayesha Raza Farooq, Gian Chand, Mushahid Hussain Syed, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Jehanzb Jamaldini, Rana Maqbool, and Muhammad Akram.
Earlier, Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani rejected two adjournment motions while a motion was dropped due to absence of its mover.
