Roadside bomb kills 3, wounds 8 others in central Ghor province

A civilian vehicle on early Monday hit a roadside bomb in central Ghor province, as a result, 3 civilians lost lives and eight others were wounded.

A spokesman for provincial governor Abdul Hai Khatibi said the vehicle was heading to Ghor from western Herat province when it hit a roadside bomb early this morning.

Abdul Hai Khatibi added the incident took place near Firuzkoh district of the province.

Children and women are also among the victims and wounded have already been transferred to local nearby hospitals, he added.

No group including Taliban have yet claimed responsibility for the incident.

According to a report from the United Nations on Afghan civilian casualties, roadside bombs have been a major factor on increasing the civilian casualties.

Ghor province is located in central part of Afghanistan, toward the north west. Ghor has ten administrative districts with Chaghcharan serving as its capital.
