Security Forces retake Now Zad district in Helmand
Afghan security forces took back control of Now Zad district in Helmand province southwest of Afghanistan, local officials confirmed.

Volatile Now Zad district has been the scene of heavy clashes and violence between security forces and Taliban militants for the past days.
In the latest setback for Afghan security forces, Taliban had captured Now Zad district on Wednesday, but security forces retook it from them early today.
Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for ministry of Interior wrote today on his Facebook page that Afghan security forces has re-taken control of Now Zad district, imposing heavy casualties on Taliban insurgents.
According to reports, more than 100 Taliban have been killed in the latest clashes between two sides.
Sediqi has not said any on security forces’ casualties.
The volatile Now Zad district in Helmand province southwest of Afghanistan has been amongst the insecure districts of the country where insurgents are actively operating.
