Taliban appoints new commander for military training center in Herat

Local Taliban officials have appointed a new commander for the military training center in the province.

Taliban officials appointed on Sunday Molavi Mohammad Ismael Hedayat as the new commander for military training center in western Herat province.

The new appointment for a military center from the Taliban comes amid the group’s tense challenges on forming an army strong enough to protect the insider insecurities, with the ISIS keeps coming forward.

Since the Taliban takeover, the IS has carried out at least four high-profile attacks throughout Afghanistan, mostly targeting Shia Muslim community.

In a fresh statement from the IS published by its weekly Al-Naba, it warned it would target all Shia Muslims from Baghdad in Iraq to Khorasan, a name for older Afghanistan.
