The delegation met Qureshi as per the invitation of Pakistan’s foreign office.
“There was no military solution to the conflict in Afghanistan and that a political settlement was the only way forward,” Qureshi said in the statement.
He stressed on the needs for Afghans to grab this opportunity for maintaining comprehensive political solution, adding the US-Taliban agreement must be implemented to pave the way for Intra-Afghan talks.
“Taliban are committed to Doha agreement,” Qureshi said, calling on the Taliban delegation to reduce violence and quickly start Intra-Afghan talks.
Foreign Minister also urged the international community to further enhance their engagement in Afghan development, saying Pakistan-Afghanistan ties are based on amity.
Qureshi underlined the need for creating economic opportunities in Afghanistan that will create employment opportunities not only for Afghans within the county, but also for those outside.
Meanwhile, Baradar showed his interest and commitment to peace, security and development in Afghanistan, according to the statement.
