Taliban to replace dissolved ministries with councils

Deputy Minister of information and culture and spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Zabiullah Mujahid said that they are working on creating a grand council and other common councils.

Zabiullah Mujahid said that a grand council of patriarchs and tribal elders along with a small sub-council will be created in the country.

The spokesperson added that they have dissolved a number of government bodies and intend to create councils.

On Thursday, December 23 the IEA dissolved ministries of state in peace and parliament affairs and two independent commissions of the election.

Zabiullah Mujahid said that the administrations were a burden on the government and dissolved them due to economic woes.

The rumors for the creation of councils come as Afghanistan’s senate and parliament are dissolved.

Earlier, the IEA had said to be creating a grand council of religious scholars.
