Dr. Abdullah:

The next government would have further responsibilities regarding the refugees

Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah stressed on continued support to Afghan refugees during a meeting attended by representatives of the foreign organizations at the Sapidar Palace.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) organized the meeting for coordination of aids with the donor countries and agencies prior to the international meeting on migration in Geneva.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Abdullah said addressing refugees’ issues nd providing shelters to repatriates needed international support. 

Hinting to National Unity Government’s works, Dr. Abdullah said the next government would have further responsibilities regarding the refugees and repatriates.  The Chief Executive went on saying that peace and stability would encourage the Afghan refugees to return back to their country.  Meanwhile minister of refugees and repatriates said an international event to take place in Geneva on 17-18 October and would discuss refugees’ issues worldwide. 

“The event would be an opportunity to raise Afghan migrants’ issues and Afghan government is ready to fulfil its responsibility towards them,” Sayed Alimi  Balkhi told the meeting, as quoted in the Chief Executive Press statement.  Representative of the UNHCR said addressing of the Afghan refugees’ issues in Pakistan and Iran needed firm international cooperation.
