Wahidullah Majroh, Deputy Minister of Public Health, announced at a press conference on Tuesday that the number of infected people with the coronavirus in the country has reached 3,224, with 330 new positive cases. This is the highest record number during 24 hours since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Afghanistan.
“Five patients with coronavirus died in the country, bringing the death toll to 95 across the country,” he said. Adding that “twenty-four people having the virus were recovered, bringing the total to 421”.
According the deputy minister of public health, Herat (59), Kabul (45), Kandahar (41), Balkh (38), Paktia (26), Nangarhar (13), Panjsher (12), Laghman (11), Takhar (11), Logar and Samangan each (10), Paktika (9), Parwan (7), Faryab (6), Kunduz and Ghazni (5), Maidan Wardak and Kapisa each (4), Badakhshan and Zabul each (3), Farah (2), Helmand (1) were registered in the past 24 hours.
He demanded the people to stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus and to implement health guidelines.
