30 more COVID-19 cases reported

Total number of corona effected reached 367 in Afghanistan

Thirty more confirmed COVID-19 cases have been reported in Afghanistan, bringing the number of the infected people to 367 a Ministry of Public Health spokesman confirmed.

Sixteen of the new cases were confirmed in western Herat province, the epicenter of the disease bordering Iran, six cases were recorded in national capital of Kabul, three in Nimroz province, two in Kunduz province, two in Faryab and one in Daikundi provinces respectively, Wahidullah Mayar, the spokesman said in a statement.

   Seven patients have died and 12 others have recovered since the outbreak in mid February, according to the official.

   To contain the pandemic, the government has put big cities, including Kabul and Herat in a three-week quarantine, calling on the people to remain at home.
