Turkmenistan President arrived Kabul to boost ties

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow arrived in Kabul amid tight security measurements on Thursday morning.

Berdimuhamedow is expected to meet President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah and other high ranking government officials in Presidential Palace and discuss regional security, strengthening bilateral relations and economical cooperation.

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani while talking to a gathering of Afghan businessmen on Wednesday said that he will discuss business opportunities between the two countries with Mr. Berdimuhamedow in his visit to Kabul.

Tight security measurements have been taken in Kabul city with roads leading to Presidential Palace being blocked. Presidential Palace has also taken special arrangements to welcome Mr. Berdimuhamedow to Kabul.

Afghanistan is currently utilizing Turkmenistan’s energy and natural gas.
