UK, U.S. warn nationals to avoid and leave Kabul hotels

The United States and the United Kingdom have warned their citizens to avoid hotels in Kabul, citing security risks.

The two countries issued warnings on Monday, urging their nationals to avoid hotels in Kabul, and urged those “who are at or near the Serena Hotel” to leave immediately.
The Serena Hotel in the downtown area of Kabul has been targeted by terrorist organizations in the past.
The warning comes days after a suicide bombing claimed by ISIS at a Shia mosque in the northern city of Kundaz, left dozens of people dead.
