UN representative for northeast Afghanistan met Taliban`s head of refugees in Badakhshan

Having offered his suggestions and plans regarding sever economic situation of Badakhshan residents, Mowlawi Mohammad Yunes Jahadmal, the Taliban head of office of immigrants and returnees, called on world community to help poor and needy people in the province.

In a meeting with Mr. Alexi, the UN official and coordinator in charge of northeast of Afghanistan, the head of office for refugee and repatriation affairs of Taliban and provincial natural disasters` experts discussed “refugees, displaced and natural disasters` victims”.

Distributing UN food and non-food aids to needy families in Badakhshan and addressing refugees, internal displaced and natural disasters` affected people` problems were discussed in the meeting held at the Badakhshan provincial office of refugees.

Thanking UN humanitarian aid, Mowlawi Mohammad Yunes Jahadmal, the Taliban head of office of immigrants and returnees said the ground for fairly distributing humanitarian aid among needy is prepared by Islamic Emirate in Badakhshan.

Having offered his suggestions and plans regarding sever economic situation of Badakhshan residents, he called on world community to help poor and needy people in Badakhshan.

Appreciating improvement in security situation in Badakhshan, Mr. Alexi, the UN official and coordinator in charge of northeast of Afghanistan described the fair ground for distributing Un and charity organizations` humanitarian aids as satisfying.

As winter coming closer, displaced people in Badakhshan worried about sever economic situation and called for governmental and world community` help.

Mohammad Nazem, who`s received UN aid, said poor people of Badakhshan need more amount of aids.

He asked for unfreezing Afghanistan blocked assets to save Afghanistan from poverty and unemployment.   

Badakhshan province as a big province has a population of almost 1 and half million located in a geographically complicated situation.
