Unknown gunmen kill 5 female employees of Kandahar airport

Unknown gunmen have shot killed at least six security guards including five employees of southern Kandahar province airport, officials say.

Samim Khapalwak spokesperson to the Kandahar governor, told Raha that the early morning incident took place when unknown gunmen attacked the minivan carrying the security staff of Kandahar airport to work.

The attack occurred in the 4th district of Kandahar city and five female security guards of the airport along with the driver of the minivan were killed, Khapalwak said.

Police has launched a probe into the incident, while there has been no immediate claim for the attack.

Meanwhile a Taliban spokesman denied hands in the incident.
