Citing an anonymous source in the Department of State of the US Reuters reported that, the Biden Administration is busy discussing the issue with its allies.
Reuters has quoted the source saying the US administration discusses the issue with 60 countries every week to tell them about the importance of step.
“We had an international mission in Afghanistan for 20 years. Now we are making our international efforts for thousands of Afghans who leave their country.” Said the source.
It is still unclear which country will embrace the Afghans who are not eligible for permanent resettlement in the US.
After the US pullout and the recapture of power by the Taliban, over 150,000 Afghans have been evacuated out of Afghanistan among them 74,000 have been resettled in the US.
The US apparently preparing for 12,000 Afghan evacuees who are in the UAE camps now for seven months.
Meanwhile, thousands of SIV, P1, and P2 applicants living in limbo in Afghanistan and are awaiting responses from the US government regarding their destiny.
