“We wait for the President decree to distribute e-NIC”, MoI officials say
Officials in the Ministry of Interior Affairs said on Tuesday that they are waiting for the President’s decree to start the distribution of the Electronic National Identification Cards (e-NIC).

Afghan Minister for Interior Affairs, Noorul Haq Ulomi, said “all the preparations are done, but the President yet to order on the distribution of the e-NIC.”
On the other hand, a number of senators in the upper house of the parliament has criticized the government for not issuing the National Electronic Identification Cards.
Senator Lailoma Ahmadi said,” it has been months and thousands of dollars have been invested on the aspect, but yet to see the process begins, any delays and neglects will end up with the insufficiency of the government.”
Almost all the expenses needed for issuance and distribution of the National Electronic Identification Cards have been paid by the International communities; however, consecutive delays on the process has made the International communities to warn Afghan Government for cutting their financial supports.
